If you donate your time, talents or money, do it locally!
Del Norte Nonprofit Alliance launches “Give Local” campaign for the holidays.
The Del Norte Nonprofit Alliance has launched a “Give Local” campaign encouraging charitable residents to give their time, talents and donations to nonprofits in Del Norte County this holiday season.
The campaign is modeled after the national “Giving Tuesday” campaign that happens every year on the Tuesday (Nov. 27) following Thanksgiving.
“Before you donate money or volunteer your time and talents for a good cause, make sure your generosity stays right here in your community,” said Keri Mosey, Nonprofit Alliance coordinator. “There are nearly 180 nonprofits right here in Del Norte that provide much-needed services to your friends and neighbors, and they need your help.”
People who want to give are encouraged to select recipients from a directory of local nonprofits that can be found online at www.wildriverscf.org/Admin/List-of-Del-Norte-Nonprofits
“These nonprofit organizations feed our hungry, strengthen our neighborhoods, shelter our homeless, care for the elderly and nurture the young,” said Mosey. This holiday season make a difference right here in Del Norte County by keeping the gift of your time, talents and donations local.”
The Del Norte Nonprofit Alliance is a group of local nonprofit leaders who recognized the importance of lifting one another up to create a healthier nonprofit sector as a whole, she said. Its mission is to strengthen nonprofits in Del Norte and the services they provide.
